Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the development of the BPCL’s Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district on September 14, a senior official said on Thursday.
The refinery’s capacity (crude distillation/vacuum distillation unit) is 7.7 million metric tonnes per year, with the expansion aiming to increase this to 11 MMTPA.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation for the Bina Refinery expansion project, which will cost Rs 50,000 crore, as well as new units in Hadkal village, around 70 kilometers from the district headquarters, he said.
Bina Refinery of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited was inaugurated in May 2011 by then-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
PM Modi will be visiting Sagar district in the state’s Bundelkhand region for the second time in a month. On August 12, he lay the foundation stone for famed spiritual leader Sant Ravidas’ temple-cum-memorial complex.
