Prashant Jain to step down as Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy

Prashant Jain, JSW Energy’s Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, resigned from his position on October 31. He will no longer be a director of the corporation after his resignation.

Prashant Jain has stated his decision to retire from active professional life early to pursue personal interests and, as a result, he will step down from the positions of Joint Managing Director & CEO and Key Managerial Person of the Company, according to an exchange filing.

To ensure a smooth transition, Jain has committed to stay in his present role until January 31, 2024. A search for a suitable candidate (internal or external) has been initiated by the company, and the results will be communicated in due time, said the company.

Jain has been with the JSW Group for 28 years. In December 1995, he started as an Assistant Manager – Projects at JSW Steel’s Tarapur facility. In 2003, he began working for the Chairman’s office. In 2017, he was elevated to his present post.

At around 11.00 AM, JSW Energy was trading 1.01% lower at Rs 381.90, against the previous close of Rs 385.80 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of Rs 387.70 and Rs 375.50, respectively.
