According to the most recent price notification sent out by fuel retailers, the price of gasoline and diesel remained stable in metro areas on October 28. Delhi’s prices for gasoline and diesel per litre are Rs96.72 and Rs89.62, respectively. Diesel costs Rs94.27 and gasoline costs Rs106.31 a litre in Mumbai. In Chennai and Kolkata, the prices for gasoline and diesel, respectively, are Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 and Rs106.03 and Rs92.76.
Meanwhile, whereas the prices of petrol and diesel have stabilised from the heights of April 2022, the price of CNG has been increasing on an average of 3 percent month-on-month. Despite refining disruptions lowering overall crude imports, India’s Middle Eastern oil imports fell to a 19-month low in September while Russian imports rose. This is according to trade and shipping data.
Due to maintenance at refineries like Reliance Industries and Indian Oil Corp., India’s total oil imports in September plunged to a 14-month low of 3.91 million barrels per day (bpd), down 5.6% from the previous year.
