According to the most recent price notification issued by fuel retailers, the price of gasoline and diesel remained stable on July 25. The cost of fuel has not changed in over a month.
Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, has previously declared a reduction in value-added tax (VAT) of Rs5 per liter for gasoline and Rs3 per liter for diesel. The CM made the price reduction known after a state cabinet meeting on July 14. Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, praised the ruling as “a big relief to Maharashtrian and Marathi Manus.”
After the Maharashtra government reduced the VAT, gasoline, and diesel in Mumbai are now being sold at Rs106.31 and Rs94.27, respectively. Delhi charges Rs 96.72 for gasoline and Rs 89.62 for diesel per liter. In Chennai, the cost of gasoline and diesel is Rs102.63 and Rs94.24, respectively, while in Kolkata, the cost of gasoline is Rs106.03 and that of diesel is Rs92.76.
