RateGain's June PULSE Report anticipates surge in Asian travel demand

15 Jul 2022 , 02:12 PM

RateGain Travel Technologies Limited, a global SaaS provider for travel and hospitality, shares insights in its June edition of the PULSE report by analyzing demand from over 1,91,000 hotels and monitoring future travel demand from more than 60 cities.

According to the report, while month-on-month travel bookings in Europe and the Americas have decreased as summer travel begins, demand in Asia has increased, with travelers from Europe and the Americas booking trips to India, the UAE, Thailand, and Indonesia for September.

China, the world’s largest outbound market, began relaxing restrictions in June, and it is expected that more than one-quarter of outbound travel from China will begin to recover slowly.

Bookings in India have been increasing month over month for the last five months, after a brief dip in January due to Omicron.

With schools closed for the summer, bookings in India’s major cities fell, while tourist destinations grew over the last three months.

Bookings increased in June in India, Indonesia, Thailand, and the UAE as travelers planned to visit during the Eid al-Adha holiday, which begins on July 8th. Bookings in Jeddah, Sharm-El-Sheikh, and Dubai increased by more than 75% month over month, owing to increased demand for Eid and Haj travel.

Rategain Travel is currently trading at Rs299.40 down by Rs1.05 or 0.35% from its previous closing of Rs300.45 on the BSE.
