Rupee Vs. USD: Indian Rupee Opens 10 Paise Higher Against The USD

The Indian rupee commenced the week by opening 10 paise higher against the US dollar on Monday, starting at 83.09 a dollar compared to the previous Friday’s closing rate of 83.19. In the previous trading session on Friday, the rupee had experienced a depreciation of 16 paise, closing at 83.19 against the US dollar.

Additionally, on the domestic front, the Indian stock market indices, namely Sensex and Nifty, were observed to be trading lower during the pre-opening session. As per provisional data available on the exchanges, on Friday, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) made a net purchase of Indian shares worth Rs 164.42 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) acquired shares totaling Rs 1,938.57 crore.
