Rupee Vs. USD: Indian Rupee Opens 2 paise Lower Against the USD

The Indian rupee started 2 paise lower against the US dollar due to a stronger US currency and increasing crude oil prices, opening at 83.05 per dollar compared to the previous close of 83.03. In the previous session, the rupee had closed at 83.03 against the dollar.

On the domestic front, both the Sensex and Nifty, India’s benchmark equity indices, were trading at record-high levels in the early session. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought Indian shares worth Rs 294.69 crore on Wednesday, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 50.80 crore, according to provisional data from the exchanges.
