SAIL touches Rs 1.03 lakh crore turnover in FY22

During 2021—2022, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) produced the most amount of hot metal 18.733 million tonnes, and crude steel 17.366 million tonnes. Wednesday’s annual general meeting of the Maharatna corporation saw the announcement that, for the first time, it has joined the exclusive group of Indian businesses with a turnover of more than Rs1 lakh crore.

In comparison to the previous highest turnover of Rs68,452 crore, achieved during 2020—21, the company’s revenue of Rs1.03 lakh crore in 2021—22 increased significantly by more than 50%. The company’s highest-ever results in terms of profitability were achieved, the company’s chairperson Soma Mondal told shareholders during the virtual meeting, thanks to a rise in turnover and improved operational performance.
