Stocks like IRFC (20.00%), MMTC Ltd (20.00%), Rail Vikas (17.28%), and Nazara (8.64%) hit their 52-week highs. The Indian rupee opened at 82.68 against the US dollar, marking a 4-paise gain from the previous close of 82.72.
GST collections surged by 11% to over Rs 1.59 lakh crore in August, attributed to improved compliance and reduced evasion. Domestic passenger vehicle sales hit a record high in August, driven by Maruti Suzuki’s highest-ever monthly dispatches and strong SUV demand.
Brent crude oil rose by 0.05% to USD 88.59 a barrel. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers, purchasing equities worth Rs 487.94 crore on Friday, according to exchange data.
