According to a release, Sterlite Power has received a green energy transmission order for Rajasthan Phase-III (20GW). The project entails the construction of a 350km 765Kv power transmission line. The order’s amount, however, was not disclosed by the corporation.
According to the statement, the project includes three major components: a 350 km 765kV transmission corridor connecting Fatehgarh III’s renewable energy zone to the Beawar substation; the construction of a 3000 MVA 765/400kV Substation at Beawar; and the construction of two LILO lines totaling 120 km.
The project also includes the installation of a Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) system at the Fatehgarh III substation.
According to the company, Sterlite Power would be the first private transmission infrastructure developer in the country to adopt a STATCOM.
This is Sterlite Power’s second order in Rajasthan for green energy transmission projects. The project was awarded via tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB).
Sterlite Power received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Ltd, to construct the project over a 35-year period on a BOOT (build, own, operate, transfer) model.
