Sun TV Network PAT in Q3FY22 grows 14.44 % yoy to Rs437.89 crore; Stock gains 1.5%

Sun TV Network Limited, one of the largest Television Broadcasters in India, operates Satellite Television Channels across five languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla, and Marathi, airs FM radio stations across India and owns the SunRisers Hyderabad Cricket Franchise of the Indian Premier League and the Digital OTT Platform Sun NXT.

For the quarter ended December 31, 2022, the revenues (excl. IPL) were up 27.66% at Rs.975.16 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2021, as against Rs763.27 crore for the corresponding quarter ended December 31, 2020, and the overall Revenues went up ~6.25% at Rs1,033.10 crore as against Rs.972.34 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2020.

The EBITDA grew by ~20.18% at Rs721.87 crore for the current quarter as against Rs.600.68 crore during the previous quarter ended December 31, 2020 and the Profit Before Taxes for the quarter ended December 31, 202 l grew marginally by ~2.90% to Rs609.80 crore as against Rs592.62 crore for the corresponding quarter ended December 31, 2020.

The Profit after taxes (excl IPL) for the current quarter was up by ~14.44% to Rs437.89 crore as against Rs382.65 crore for the corresponding quarter ended December 31, 2020 and the overall Profit after taxes for the current quarter grew by ~3.52 % to Rs457.39 crore as against Rs441.82 crore for the corresponding quarter ended December 31, 2020. After accounting for the other comprehensive income (net of taxes), the Total Comprehensive Income for the quarter ended December 31, 202 I was up ~3.52 % at Rs457.20 crore as against Rs441.67 crore for the corresponding quarter ended December 31, 2020.

The Earnings Per Share for the current quarter grew by ~3.52% at Rs11.61 as against Rs11.21 for the corresponding quarter ended December 31, 2020.

At around 9.47 am, Sun TV Network Ltd is currently trading at Rs529.25 per share up by Rs8 or 1.53% from its previous closing of Rs521.25 per share on the BSE.

During the current quarter, Sun Pictures, a division of the Company had released the Blockbuster Movie “Annaatthe” directed by Siva and starring Super Star Rajinikanth, Khushbu, Meena, Nayanthara,Keerthy Suresh and others with music composed by D. Imman.

Interim Dividend: At the Board Meeting held on Thursday, the Board of Directors have declared an Interim Dividend of Rs2.50 per share (50%) on a face value of Rs5.00 per share.
