Suzlon receives a contract for a 31.5 MW wind energy project in Maharashtra and Karnataka

24 Aug 2023 , 03:10 PM

Provider of renewable energy solutions Suzlon Group revealed on Thursday that Integrum Energy Infrastructure Private Limited had ordered the development of a 31.5 megawatts (MW) wind power project.

According to a press statement from the firm, Suzlon will install 15 units of S120-140m wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW each in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Supply, installation, and commissioning are all included in the project. Suzlon will also provide services for post-commissioning operation and maintenance.

In May 2024, the project is anticipated to be put into operation. 20,000 families can receive electricity annually from a plant of this magnitude.

Suzlon Group CEO J. P. Chalasani stated, ‘We are pleased to announce our second order with Integrum Energy Infrastructure Private Limited. Suzlon is proud to get repeat business from dependable clients like Integrum Energy, one of India’s fastest-growing renewable energy project management firms. This project’s power output will be utilized only for captive purposes, thereby expanding India’s use of renewable energy.

In order to meet grid standards, Suzlon turbines use doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) technology to integrate wind turbines into the utility network.

Integrum Energy Infrastructure Private Limited’s founder and CEO, Anand Lahoti, declared: ‘At Integrum Energy Infrastructure Private Limited, we are dedicated to fostering a sustainable and carbon-neutral India. We are excited to work with Suzlon, a premier provider of renewable energy solutions with solid technology and a successful track record in India. Suzlon’s ‘made in India’ products go hand in hand with our philosophy of promoting ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’

Suzlon’s research and development (R&D) initiatives are focused on enhancing turbine performance, obtaining more energy from low-wind locations, and reducing the cost of energy.
