Tata Motors announced a 10% increase in total domestic sales to 72,997 units in December 2022. It said in a statement that in the same month last year, the company sold 66,307 units.
Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market were 40,043 units last month, up from 35,299 units in December 2021, registering a 13.4% increase.
According to the company, sales of electric passenger vehicles, including exports, were 3,868 units last month, up 64.2% from 2,355 units in December 2021.
Tata Motors reported that total commercial vehicle sales were slightly lower last month, at 33,949 units, compared to 34,151 units in December 2021.
Domestic sales, on the other hand, increased 6.3% to 32,954 units, compared to 31,008 units in December 2021.
Tata Motors Ltd Executive Director Girish Wagh stated that the company has maintained its focus on retail and inventory reduction as it transitions to BSVI Phase-2 standards.
The company outlined that it anticipates that the PV industry will continue to see strong demand in the coming quarter. It intends to remain vigilant and closely monitor any potential supply-side impact from rising COVID-19 cases globally.
