Tata Motors to Supply and Operate 200 Electric Buses in Srinagar and Jammu for 12 Years

Tata Motors will provide and manage 200 electric buses in Srinagar and Jammu for the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City projects over a 12-year period. The company has already delivered the first set of Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Srinagar Smart City Ltd through Tata Motors’ subsidiary, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd.

This delivery is part of a larger order to supply, maintain, and operate a total of 100 electric buses in Srinagar and 100 electric buses in Jammu for 12 years, supporting the Smart City initiatives in both cities.

Chairman of TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, Asim Kumar Mukhopadhyay, emphasized the company’s commitment to safer, smarter, and greener mobility solutions and its role in shaping the future of public transport in Jammu & Kashmir.

Tata Motors has already supplied over 1,000 electric buses in various Indian cities, accumulating more than 9.6 crore kilometers in total distance traveled, with an impressive uptime exceeding 95 %.
