The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) ordered 921 electric buses from Tata Motors, which made the announcement on Thursday.
Convergence Energy Services Limited just announced a significant tender, and Tata Motors is prepared to deliver, operate, and repair 12-meter electric buses as part of it (CESL). According to the contract, this will take place over the course of 12 years.
“Tata Starbus is an indigenously produced vehicle with excellent design and best-in-class features designed for sustainable and enjoyable travel,” the firm stated in a statement on Thursday.
The directive, according to BMTC Managing Director G Sathyavathi, is crucial given Bengaluru’s expanding need for sustainable and clean public transportation.
In the past 30 days, the West Bengal Transport Corporation and the Delhi Transport Corporation both placed orders with Tata Motors for 1,180 and 1,500 electric buses, respectively.
