Tata Power, one of India’s major integrated power providers, today announced the appointment of Deepesh Nanda as President-Renewables and CEO & MD of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a Tata Power subsidiary, effective November 1, 2023.
Nanda succeeds Ashish Khanna, who is now President of the Generation business. Tata Power stated in a news release that Nanda has 28 years of comprehensive expertise from firms such as GE, Flowserve, and Tyco.
Nanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Annamalai University. He also pursued MBA from the Open University Business School, Milton Keynes, UK, and has undertaken leadership training at GE Crotonville.
Nanda will be responsible for overseeing the development and profitability of Tata Power’s renewable energy portfolio, which includes solar, wind, hybrid, and B2C green energy solutions, in his new post. He will also oversee renewable energy innovation and digital transformation efforts.
In addition, Ashish Khanna, a Tata Power veteran, has been appointed as the President of the Generation business cluster, which covers the company’s future pumped hydro storage plants, hydro plants, and other new projects, in addition to the company’s current hydro and thermal plants in India and overseas.
