Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) said on Monday that it has agreed to establish a 12.5 MW captive solar project in Maharashtra with Endurance Technologies Ltd.
TPREL stated in a statement that it has already signed a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Endurance Technologies Ltd through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) TP Green Nature Ltd in this respect.
The plant, which is to be built in Aachegaon, Maharashtra, would generate 27.5 million units (MUs) of energy per year.
This will assist Endurance Technologies in lowering its carbon footprint and eliminate about 9,125 Metric Tonnes (MT) of carbon emissions annually, according to the company.
The company expects to complete the project within a period of 12 months of the signing of the PDA.
With the projected captive solar power facility, TPREL, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has a total renewable energy portfolio capacity of 7,889 MW.
The company’s operational capacity is 4,188 MW, which includes 3,185 MW of solar energy and 1,003 MW of wind energy.
