To fulfil the anticipated peak demand during summer months, the distribution division of Tata Power Co. Ltd. has entered into a 200-MW medium-term hydropower purchase deal with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVNL).
A supplier of power in the capital is Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL).
According to a statement made on Monday by Tata Power-DDL, the firm will get hydropower from NVVNL, the trading division of NTPC Ltd., from May through September starting in 2023.
It was claimed that the partnership will aid Tata Power-DDL, a power distribution firm (discom), in growing its green product line.
‘Tata Power-DDL is focused to contribute towards the national goal by increasing the quantum of renewable energy through various arrangements, e.g., hydro, solar, and wind, etc.’, stated Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO of Tata Power Delhi Distribution to ET.
Tata Power-DDL has undertaken the necessary power arrangements to provide a sufficient supply of electricity in its operational area, taking into account the current summer season.
It has set up sophisticated ways to comprehend load forecasts during the summer.
The company’s battery energy storage system in the Rohini area will assist by providing clients with consistent and dependable electricity during any summertime emergencies.
