Telangana’s per-capita electricity consumption, a measure of a state’s progress, grew from 1196 units in 2014 to 2021 units annually. A sum of Rs36,918 crores was invested in the state’s transmission and distribution network when it was formed in 2014, and starting in 2018, power would be provided 24 hours a day to 26.90 lakh agriculture pump sets, ending the farmers’ desperation, according to an official announcement.
Telangana’s per-capita consumption, a measure of a state’s progress, grew from 1196 units in 2014 to 2012 units at the moment. Telangana’s current per capita consumption is 73% higher than the national per capita consumption of 1161 units, according to D. Prabhakar Rao, CMD of TSGENCO and TSTRANSCO.
He said, “Telangana Power utilities have reached the greatest peak demand of 14,160 Megawatts on March 22, 2022, exceeding the United Andhra Pradesh peak demand of 13,162 MW. This has been accomplished under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
In the foreseeable future, the state’s electric utilities are prepared to handle a load of up to 17,000 MW. According to him, TSGENCO has commissioned all four units of the Bhadradri Thermal Power Station and is moving on with construction on the five 800-MW Yadadri Thermal Power Station. This is part of the company’s effort to achieve energy independence.
He said, “TSGENCO has set a record by producing an all-time high quantum of hydrogen power during the FY 2021—22, with every hydrogen station achieving 100% of the intended generation.”
