The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme would see the development of 11 railway stations in the Vijayawada division

According to news reports, eleven railway stations in the South Central Railway (SCR) zone’s Vijayawada division will be developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. According to Narendra Anandrao Patil, divisional railway manager of the Vijayawada Division who talked to ET, these stations will be part of the significant upgrade in the first phase.

‘The stations are Anakapalle, Bhimavaram Town, Eluru, Kakinada Town, Narsapur, Nidadavolu, Ongole, Singarayakonda, Tadepelligudem, Tenali, and Tuni,’ Patil said in a statement.

He stated that under this scheme, focus will be given to improving the ease of passenger movement, comfort, and integration of the station with surrounding communities, as well as the look and feel of numerous passenger facilities.

Improvements to the platform surface and extension of the cover over it, station facade and circulating space, construction of 12-metre wide foot over bridges, escalators, lifts, furniture, and better lighting are also suggested.

Patil also asked passengers for ideas on how to develop these stations under this initiative. He released the station-specific email addresses and Twitter hashtags so that the recommendations may be received by August 3.
