TN state transport undertakings places an order with Ashok Leyland for 1,666 brand-new buses

Ashok Leyland, the flagship firm of the Hinduja Group, announced on Friday that Tamil Nadu State Undertakings has placed an order for 1,666 brand-new buses. This is the single largest BSVI order that has been received from State Transport Undertakings, and it will help the business maintain its leadership position in the bus sector.

The buses would use iGen6 BS VI technology, a powerful 147 kW (197 hp) H-series engine, and be expressly created to assure exceptional passenger comfort. The engine is anticipated to increase comfort and safety while lowering total ownership costs.

According to Sanjeev Kumar, the company’s president for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, ‘We are happy to have secured the single largest order for BSVI buses from TN STUs, with whom we have a long-standing partnership and decades-old relationship. With this purchase, we will undoubtedly pass the impressive threshold of having more than 20,000 of our buses working with TN STU.
