On Thursday, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said that its January wholesale sales reached a record-breaking 24,609 vehicles, up 92% from the same month the previous year. In January of last year, the carmaker shipped 12,835 vehicles to dealers.
The company sold 23,197 units in the home market last month. Additionally, 1,412 Urban Cruiser Hyryder units were shipped.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business Sabari Manohar said in a statement, ‘The company’s MPV and SUV offerings continue to be our greatest strength with major contributions from the Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and the Legender.’
He continued, ‘Other products like the Rumion, Glanza, Hilux, Vellfire, and Camry Hybrid have also fueled the company’s growth story.’
TKM has halted the delivery of its three models—the Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Hilux—into the nation in the interim following the discovery of anomalies in the diesel powertrain certification testing.
