TVS Motor's sales in April increase y-o-y by 4%

In comparison to the same month last year, TVS Motor Company has reported a 4% increase in total sales to 3,06,224 units. In April 2023 compared to April 2022, total two-wheeler sales increased by 5% to 2,94,786 units, with domestic sales increasing by 23% to 2,32,956 units from 1,80,553 units, according to a statement from TVS Motor Company.

The TVS iQube Electric electric scooter sold 6,227 units in April 2023 as opposed to 1,420 units in the same month last year, the company reported. It added that manufacturing was limited last month due to the transition to the new battery safety norm AIS156 and supply chain issues.

On the export front, the company reported that last month’s overseas shipments totalled 71,663 units, compared to April 2022’s 113,427 units, and that two-wheeler exports totalled 61,830 units, down from 99,489 units the previous month.

Sales of three-wheelers fell to 11,438 units in April 2023 from 15,286 units the previous year, according to the report.
