Vedanta gets listed on Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index

Vedanta announced to the exchanges that it is honored to be included in The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. 

Vedanta is the only Indian company to join the index this year by securing 6th position in Global Sustainability ranking in metal and mining sector category. The Company has also got listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index of the 111 global companies.

In a press release, the company said, ‘The inclusion in global Indices and our improved rankings are a testimony to our commitment towards building a sustainable future. With focused action plans on decarbonization, water positivity, workplace safety, community welfare and workforce diversity, we are embarking on a transformative journey to emerge as industry leaders in ESG.’

It further added, ‘Company’s goal is to create long-term value for all our stakeholders through research, discovery, acquisition, sustainable development and utilization of diversified natural resources. We shall continue to demonstrate world-class standards of governance, safety, sustainability and social responsibility.’

At around 9:16 AM, Vedanta was trading at Rs305.10 per share higher by 0.61% on the BSE.
