Vedanta Ltd Surges 4.71%, S&P BSE Metal index Gains 3.74%

Vedanta Ltd gained 4.71% today to trade at Rs 317.75. The S&P BSE Metal index is up 3.74% to quote at 19259.31. The index is down 15.54 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, JSW Steel Ltd increased 4.69% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd added 3.88% on the day. The S&P BSE Metal index went up 3.69 % over last one year compared to the 8.07% surge in benchmark SENSEX. Vedanta Ltd has lost 24.68% over last one month compared to 15.54% fall in S&P BSE Metal index and 6.09% drop in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 40196 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 7.45 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 440.75 on 11 Apr 2022.
