With a virtual collaborative hub, consulting firm KPMG enters the metaverse

The creation of a metaverse collaboration centre by KPMG US and Canada, the consultant’s entry into virtual reality, was announced on June 22 as the “next stage in both companies’ journeys to lead their people and clients into Web 3.0.”

The hub aims to connect, engage, and explore prospects for growth across industries and sectors among employees, clients, and communities. A metaverse, which seems to be the upcoming big thing, is being aggressively funded by Facebook, Epic Games, and other businesses.

The debut comes after recent announcements made by both firms about Web 3.0 and cryptocurrencies.

In February, KPMG Canada purchased the World of Women NFT and added Ethereum and Bitcoin to its corporate treasury. The non-fungible token (NFT) experience and crypto training were integrated into the onboarding process for new hires by KPMG’s US branch.

Both companies have begun utilizing Chain Fusion, a proprietary technology that supports the provision of audit services for companies engaged in financial services, fintech, and cryptocurrency.

As part of their strategic innovation strategy, the businesses will keep looking into the potential in the crypto and Web 3.0 industries. Along with other things, they will introduce platforms for immersive learning and growth, enlist people to give their knowledge, and assist in navigating the evolving fusion of the physical and digital worlds.

KPMG is looking to recruit more individuals with experience in blockchain technology and Defi, according to Blockworks, a financial media outlet, despite the fact that many businesses in the cryptocurrency field have chosen to suspend or slow hiring efforts due to the recent slump.

KPMG International, a global network of companies located in the Netherlands, reported sales of about $32 billion for the 2021 fiscal year. The businesses offer tax, audit, and consulting services.
