'Xtreme,' a solution for intra-city logistics for retailers, is introduced by Zomato

Zomato has made its entry into the market with the launch of its Xtreme app, a logistics solution that will enable retailers to ship and receive packages.

According to Moneycontrol and Business Standard, the initiative is intended to diversify Zomato’s revenue sources.

‘Xtreme makes it simple for businesses to send packages to their devoted consumers by streamlining the entire delivery procedure. We’ve got you covered, whether you’re a tiny shop or a big retailer,’ reads a message on the app’s home page.

What Zomato Xtreme is all about: 

1. The app is only for intra-city packages, which have a starting price of 35 and a maximum weight limit of 10 kilogrammes.
2. Merchants have access to live tracking for their shipments, just like with the food delivery service offered by the Gurugram-based startup. Additionally, the app now has more than 300,000 registered delivery partners.
3. Zomato Xtreme is currently only available for Android smartphone users; it has not yet appeared on the Apple Store. Whether an Apple version is intended or not is unknown.
4. Zomato started developing a B2B logistics solution in May, which eventually evolved into Zomato Xtreme.
5. Zomato Xtreme will compete with competitors like Genie (Swiggy), D4B (Dunzo), LoadShare, Wefast, Blowhorn, and others.
