GMDC's Q3FY18 standalone net profit rises 68.8% yoy to Rs78.55cr

The company’s standalone revenue stood at Rs506cr, up 33.06% yoy and 46.35% qoq.

GMDC reported a healthy growth in revenue and earnings for Q3FY18. Revenue grew by 33.1% yoy to Rs506cr. EBITDA stood at Rs131.3cr, up 98.6% yoy. EBIDTA margin rose by 856bps yoy to 26.5%. Net Profit stood at Rs78.6cr for Q3FY18, up 68.8% yoy.
  • Segmental revenue for the quarter stood at Rs72.5cr for the power segment and Rs454.4cr for the mining segment.
  • Segmental EBIT for the quarter stood at Rs135.7cr for the mining segment, while loss of Rs11cr for the power segment was reported.
  • EBITDA margins shrank by ~321bps qoq due to higher employee costs for the quarter owing to implementation of the salary hikes (7th pay commission). Employee costs rose by Rs18.8cr qoq to 9.3% of revenue in Q3FY18 against 8.2% in Q2FY18.

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 150.50, up by 7.15 points or 4.99% from its previous closing of Rs. 143.35 on the BSE.
