Equity funds estimate outflows of $968mn for latest week

Hybrid funds, which can invest in stocks and fixed income securities, had estimated inflows of $1.82 billion for the week

Total estimated inflows from long-term mutual funds were $3.43 billion for the week ended Wednesday, March 19, 2014, the Investment Company Institute reported today.

Equity funds had estimated outflows of $968 million for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $4.22 billion in the previous week. Domestic equity funds had estimated outflows of $3.81 billion, while estimated inflows to world equity funds were $2.84 billion.

Hybrid funds, which can invest in stocks and fixed income securities, had estimated inflows of $1.82 billion for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $1.94 billion in the previous week.

Bond funds had estimated inflows of $2.49 billion, compared to estimated inflows of $5.30 billion during the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw estimated inflows of $2.25 billion, while municipal bond funds had estimated inflows of $237 million.
