There are few things in life that are as fulfilling as watching a canvas come to life. The mélange of colors, forms and shapes come together to magically portray an artist’s vision; which is why perhaps art finds such a diverse audience and is a unifying thread on several occasions. High Street Phoenix dedicates the March edition of their monthly property ‘Talent Tuesday’ to the celebration of art.
The premier destination centre collaborates with Visual Disobedience, a community of artists spanning varied fields whose sole aim is to take art out of the galleries and onto the streets, to offer Mumbaikars a day of interesting art dekko on the 26th March, 2 pm onwards at the Courtyard, High Street Phoenix.
Visual Disobedience brings their enviable repertoire of artists to display some of their best works at the Courtyard along with a session of interactive workshops where patrons can learn the art of painting T-shirts. Artist Jai Ranjit will be spearheading these sessions where mall visitors will be provided with T-shirts, paints and brushes, for them to unleash their hidden painter.
One could also get one’s old T-shirts and paint them, thus getting a chance to recycle clothes that probably haven’t seen the face of daylight in years. This could also be a fabulous DIY gifting opportunity. It is easy to pick up something from a retail outlet, but take this opportunity to paint a T-shirt for your friends, family and loved ones and see them smile.
On display will be a collection of artworks from Rahul Inamdar, Amrita Bagchi, Aparna Jayakumar and Janine Shroff, part of Visual Disobedience’s eclectic roster of artists. So join High Street Phoenix & Visual Disobedience this 26th March to offer some beauty amidst the concrete landscape of Mumbai.
