The FMCG index has been in the fast lane when both CPI and WPI inflation eased. The food prices have recorded a steep fall in July 2021 as well.
At around 2.56 pm, Nifty FMCG was trading at 37,399.90 up by 445.65 points or 1.21%. The index has touched a new 52-week high of 37,417.40 earlier today.
Jubilant Foodworks was the top gainer soaring over 4.5% followed by Tata Consumer surging 3.5%. The stocks have touched a new 52-week high of Rs3,940 per piece and Rs834 per piece.
Index heavyweight HUL, Varun Beverages and Emami advanced more than 2% each.
Nestle jumped 1.6% followed by Godrej Consumer, United Breweries, Britannia and Colgate stock zooming over 1% each. Dabur and Marico soared 0.9% each.
However, PGHH was the top performer plunging 1.2% followed by ITC declining 0.9%.
