Nominations open for India’s most prestigious project management awards

Awards to be presented at the Project Management National Conference, India 2014

The Best Projects of 2013 would be acknowledged and rewarded at PMI’s Project Management Awards which will be held in Hyderabad. Project Management Institute (PMI) has established a number of awards to recognize and honour significant achievements in the project management profession. The Project Management Awards are one of the most coveted honor in project management field and will be presented during the PMI India Project Management National Conference 2014.

These awards are presented every year and are judged by a group of experienced project practitioners having an expertise in project management domain. The 2014 award nominations open from 3rdFebruary, 2014. The last date for submitting applications is 7th, April, 2014.

The award winners of the previous year :The award for the Project of the year category was presented to Larsen & Toubro Ltd. , Essar Projects (I) Ltd. and Reliance Industries Ltd for Large, Medium and Small category respectively. The winners for Contribution to the Community project and NGO were awarded to ITC Ltd. and TERI respectively.

He further added, “The theme of thisyear’s conference is "Project Management – the mantra for sustainable growth. It provides an opportunity for project management practitioners across industries, government, academia, NGOs etc., to exchange ideas on the challenges and emerging trends in projects that are contributing to national objectives.”

The 2014 award nominations are open across all industries and budget categories mentioned below:

Project of the Year : This award recognizes and honors a project team that has delivered superior results through exemplary application of project management principles in any of the following categories of projects.

1. Category Large - A project or program or similar initiative which has actual project cost of more than INR 1,000 crores

2. Category Medium - A project or program or similar initiative which has actual project cost between INR 100crores to INR 1,000 crores

3. Category Small - A project or program or similar initiative which has actual project cost less than INR 100 crores

Project of the Year - Contribution to the Community: This award recognizes and honors significant initiatives undertaken by corporate bodies or organizations (as part of their Corporate Social Responsibilities) towards improvement and well-being of the community. It can be a project, program or similar initiative and must demonstrate application of project management principles in delivering benefits to the community.

Project of the Year – NGO: This award recognizes and honors a project team that has delivered superior results through exemplary application of project management principles for projects, programs or similar initiatives implemented by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). This category excludes the initiatives undertaken by corporate bodies or organizations as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
