Adani Group wins Gondkhari and Jhigador mine on Day 1 of second tranche commercial coal mine auction

The total geological reserves of the mines put up for auction on Day 1 are ~432 MT.

Adani Group bagged two mines on the first day of commercial coal mine auction in the second tranche. Three coal mines (1 mine each in Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh) were put up for auction on Day 1 by the Ministry of Coal.

The ministry had launched the 2nd tranche of the auction of coal mines for commercial mining on March 25, 2021.

Adani Group-led Adani Power Maharashtra won Gondkhari mine with 98.71MT global reserves and Rs122.83cr annual revenue generated.

Adani's second firm CG Natural Resources won Chhattisgarh-based Jhigador mine with 250MT geological reserves.

The total geological reserves of the mines put up for auction on Day 1 are ~432 MT. Of the three mines on auction, the Gondkhari coal mine is explored while the other two coal mines i.e. Jhigador and Jogeshwar & KhasJogeshwar are partially explored.

The e-auction process for all the mines will be completed by August 04, 2021.
