JSW Steel records 10% yoy rise in crude steel production to 13.67 lakh tonnes in May; Stock climbs 2%

The crude steel production has increased a 10% from 12.48 lakh tonnes recorded in the same month a year ago.

JSW Steel announced on Thursday that the Crude Steel production for May 2021 was at 13.67 lakh tonnes. The average capacity utilisation was 91% during May 2021.

The crude steel production has increased a 10% from 12.48 lakh tonnes recorded in the same month a year ago.

Of the total crude steel production, the rolled products in the flat were at 9.99 lakh tonnes rising by 10% yoy, while the rolled products in long was at 3.09 lakh tonnes jumping by a whopping 55% yoy.

JSW Steel said that the capacity utilization remained at 91% in May’21 as the Liquid Oxygen supplies were over 30000 tonnes for medical purposes in May’21 from the Steel Complexes of the Company across India, as against over 20000 tonnes in April’21.

At around 10.46 AM, JSW Steel was trading at Rs711.45  per piece up by Rs13.50  or 1.93% on Sensex.
