Ford and WPP apologize for “offensive” ads: Reports

Ford Motor Company and JWT’s holding company WPP apologized after mock ups of ads were posted online by the Indian arm of the international ad agency JWT. The mock up depicted 3 scantily clad women gagged in the storage area of a Ford hatchback while a look alike of Silvio Berlusconi looks back grinning and flashed a victory sign. The caption read “leave all your worries behind Figo's extra large boot”. The mock up received much criticism around the world with social media abuzz with negative criticism and some even in the defence of the ads.

Another version depicted Paris Hilton instead of Berlusconi, similarly kidnapping the Kirdashian siblings, while a third has Michael Schumacher taking on Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, and Lewis Hamilton.
