To meet the growing demand for superior culinary skills and leadership, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited has pioneered the Sous Chef Live Programme. The program is designed to help prepare the aspiring chefs for the demands of the growing hospitality industry and to meet the existing global standards of culinary excellence. During the course of the program the aspiring chefs will not only learn the essentials of cooking - menu preparation and culinary presentation but also improve knowledge of international cuisines and its rich heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Chef P Soundararajan, Corporate Executive Chef, Mahindra Holidays said, “We are proud to launch the Sous Chef Live Programme. This course is launched with an endeavor to build up culinary leaders who have a passion for cooking and are enthusiastic to take gastronomy to new heights. Besides Culinary training the students will also develop skills required by the modern head chefs such as crafting exciting, creative and innovative menus, motivating teams in the kitchen, business and networking skills, etc., which are essential for a long and successful career in today’s dynamic and competitive industry.”
Sous Chef Live program is a two year course where 10 Sous chef trainees will be selected during the first year, 15 during the second year 2012 and 25 from third year onwards. The course has commenced from September, 2011. To be eligible for the program one needs to have a three year degree or diploma certificate from a reputed institute with two years of work experience from a hospitality organization. The aim of this program is to train new generation of chefs to the highest caliber. At the end of the program the candidates will receive certification for advanced training in Culinary Management.
