ONGC gains 3% on share buyback proposal

The company’s board of directors will meet on December 20 to consider the buyback proposal.

Shares of Oil & Natural Gas Corpn (ONGC) gained 3% on Friday after the company in its filing to the exchanges informed that its board of directors would consider a buyback proposal in a meeting on December 20.

Further, for the prohibition of insider trading in dealing with the securities of the company, ONGC has closed the "trading window for the designated persons from December 17 to December 24 (both days inclusive)," the company said in a press note to the exchanges on Friday.

Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd's share price is currently at Rs147.80, up by Rs4.55 or 3.18%, from its previous close of Rs143.25 on the BSE. 

The scrip opened at Rs143.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs150.30 and Rs140.60, respectively. So far, 1,79,64,858 (NSE+BSE) shares have been traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs1,83,836.09cr.
