SJVN secures solar power project worth Rs 1200 crore from MSEDCL; stock zooms ~6%

SJVN Limited informed that it secured a 200 MW Solar Power Project via its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited. The order received is on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) through e-RA conducted on December 2, 2022.

The company stated that the tentative cost of this project is around Rs 1,200 crore. SJVN expects to generate 455.52 Million Units (MUs)in the 1st Year and an estimated cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 10,480.82 MUs.

With the commissioning of this project, the company expects to reduce 5,13,560 tonnes of carbon emission and would contribute to the Government of India’s mission of reduction in carbon emission.

The Company's Renewable Portfolio currently stands at 4320.5 MW, with 179.5 MW in operation, 1385 MW under construction, and 2756 in various stages of implementation.

At around 9.17 AM, SJVN was trading at Rs41.70 up by Rs2.45 or 6.24% from its previous closing of Rs39.25 on the BSE.
