TCS announced the release of its 5G-enabled solution, TCS Cognitive Plant Operations Adviser for the Microsoft Azure Private Mobile Edge Computing (PMEC) platform, to assist companies in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, consumer packaged goods, and pharmaceuticals in transforming production by leveraging AI and machine learning to make it more intelligent, agile, and resilient.

TCS Cognitive Plant Operations Adviser is a composite AI solution for manufacturing and process plant operations that leverages Microsoft Project Bonsai, a low-code AI platform for which TCS is a launch partner, to provide insights and information to plant operators for real-time and autonomous decision-making.

Siva Ganesan, Head of TCS' Microsoft Business Unit, expressed that their objective is to equip their clients with advanced predictive and prescriptive capabilities in their plant operations by utilizing potent cognitive and edge compute capabilities to achieve superior results.

The solution, which is part of TCS' Enterprise 5G Edge suite, integrates with Microsoft Azure private MEC to help plant operators reduce waste, increase equipment uptime, and eliminate safety incidents.

It provides high-capacity compute capability with secure, reliable network connectivity at the production site, enabling self-monitoring, self-diagnosis, self-optimization, and self-learning.
