-Markets to open gap up; Nifty support @10798, resistance 10940. For today, we expect broader gains as mid-caps participate in the rally, which started with heavyweights, could spread to the mid-caps. 

-FIIs sold 94cr (cash), 510cr in Index Futures. 

-US market falls after official says US-China still far away on trade deal; Asian up. The week has seen most Asian indices post their best week in months as value buying lifts stocks. We expect more gains for the Chinese markets as Government intervention in monitory policy relief is on the cards.

-The Indian rupee gained 26 paise at 71.07/$. This is on the back of easing crude oil prices in the global market amid gains in the domestic equity markets.

-InterGlobe Aviation appoints Ronojoy Dutta as CEO effective January 24, 2019. The company has also approved the appointment of Meleveetil Damodaran, Independent Non-Executive Director as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company with effect from January 24, 2019. Read more.

-Results review: YES Bank (PAT down 7% yoy, misses estimates), Ultratech Cement (PAT down 14.5% yoy, misses estimates), Colgate-Palmolive (PAT up 12.6% yoy, in-line with estimates), Mphasis (PAT up 2.6% qoq, beats estimates), Biocon (PAT up 136.34% yoy, beats estimates).

-Results today: Maruti Suzuki (PAT Rs1,907cr, up 6% yoy), L&T (PAT Rs1,899cr, up 26% yoy), M&M Financial, IOB, Indian Bank, Dewan Housing, Gati, Gruh Finance.
