Here are the important news to watch out for today.

-Markets to open flat on Friday. On Thursday, Nifty saw another day of consolidation with mid-caps seeing short covering and value buying.

-Nifty finds support around 10,718, which was yesterday's low, while 10,840 will act as resistance. Bank Nifty finds support around 26,800, while 27,150 will act as resistance on the upside.

-FIIs sold 250.23cr (cash), 3600cr in index futures. In the Stock futures segment, FIIs sold 499 crores worth of stock futures and bought 325 crores stock options.

-The India rupee fell 36 paise to 71.16/$ due to the strong dollar against its major peers.

-US stocks see consolidation as weak retail numbers saw Dow Jones fall ~100 points. Bond yields hit 2.65% as retail numbers dampen sentiment with fixed income seeing huge inflows. 

-Asian indices opened in the red lead by profit booking in the Japanese Nikkei, which traded down by ~200 points. 

-Jet Airways poised to get Rs600cr emergency loan; lenders to get 50.1% stake on debt recast.

-WPI at 10-month low; eases to 2.76% in January. Read more.

-Glenmark Pharma approved to spin off the innovation business into a new company in the USA. The new innovation company will house the current innovative pipeline of 8 assets (NBEs & NCEs), which includes 5 clinical and 3 pre‐clinical assets; and innovation‐related R&D centres, manufacturing infrastructure, and technology. 

-Deutsche Bank Research cut TP to Rs187 on ONGC.

-CLSA cut TP to Rs11,500 on Nestle.

-On Feb 7, Zee Media Corporation promoter Arm Infra and Utilities sold 11.1 lakh shares.

-Over Feb 11-12, Welspun Enterprises promoter MGN Agro Properties acquired 4.2 lakh shares.

-Over Feb 12-13, Alembic promoter group Nirayu acquired 42,000 shares.
