The Directi Group, a leading Indian internet products company has launched its first India focused web suffix, IN.NET, a dedicated namespace for Indian businesses looking to establish an online identity. IN.NET will be operated by Directi as a generic, unrestricted domain focusing on individuals and businesses within the country.

It will offer shorter, more memorable, first choice names which are otherwise hard to find. Directi will offer .IN.NET at an affordable price point and will distribute it through the global network of registrars. Indian businesses can now get a web presence that is truly personal, and have their Web site working within minutes.

The launch of .IN.NET follows the launch of .pw (The Professional Web) a few months ago and builds on Directi’s  newly acquired strengths as  a registry operator. Since its launch, .pw has registered over 150,000 web addresses.  Speaking on the development, Mr. Bhavin Turakhia, Founder & CEO, Directi, said, “ Directi has played a pioneering role in defining products and platforms that have revolutionzed the way people host their businesses online.

With the launch of .IN.NET, we are confident of providing Indian businesses an opportunity to leverage the domain as a new platform to enhance their online experience and opt for memorable names within .IN.NET that will give them a competitive edge.”

As per various internal estimates, over 65% customers are not able to get a domain name of their first choice. They are either turning away or settling for a much longer, unattractive name. Directi’s aim is to make name scarcity a non-issue and offer Indian businesses a short, memorable name at a very affordable price. .IN.NET will launch with a 42 day Landrush & TM Claims period. During this period, customers can pre-register for generic, premium names and brand names can block their domain names to prevent cybersquatting. Thereafter they will be available to the general public on first-come, first-served basis.

Directi is known for its success in building high performance Web services solutions among its various business units including ResellerClub,, LogicBoxes, BigRock, Skenzo and

Landrush :  A landrush phase is a period during which domain names are available for registration, usually to a closed group and to entities that do not own a trademark in the name they wish to register.
