Apollo Hospitals Q4 net lower at Rs167.85cr due to exceptional gains of Rs198cr in the Mar-20 quarter

Apollo Hospitals Enterprises reported flat -1.86% lower consolidated revenues for the Mar-21 quarter at Rs2,867.95cr. On a sequential basis, net sales revenues were up 3.92% compared to total revenues in the Dec-20 quarter at Rs2,759.85cr.

Full year revenues for FY21 were -6.1% lower at Rs10,560cr on account of COVID related core business pressures. Among the verticals, the healthcare segment saw 10% yoy growth at Rs1,543cr while the pharmacy distribution business saw fall in revenues even as clinics revenues were higher.

Net profits in the Mar-21 quarter came in lower at Rs167.85cr. However, this sharp fall in profits was accounted for by Rs198cr exceptional gain in Mar-20 quarter on account of transfer of the retail pharmacy business. Profits before exceptional items were up 2.5 times yoy in Mar-21 quarter

Net margins at 5.85% in the Mar-21 quarter was lower than 7.51% in the Mar-20 quarter but better than 4.73% in the sequential Dec-20 quarter. The company has declared a dividend of Rs3 per share of 60% on par value, subject to approval.
