The consolidated Profit after tax (PAT) for the Sep-21 quarter turned around to Rs44.71cr from a net loss of Rs-14.13cr in Sep-20 quarter. The profit turnaround came from a 4-fold increase in EBITDA in the paper business and a turnaround in EBITDA in the textiles business.

Higher sales more than compensated for the steep rise in raw material costs for the company. Net margins at 4.41% were better than 2.57% on a sequential basis. The discontinued operations refer to the yarn and denim business of Century Textiles.
