Asian markets trade subdued; Hang Seng index up ~1%

Over in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index jumped 0.78%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 was flat by 0.34%, the Topix declined 0.38%, the Kospi traded lower by 0.98%.

Asian markets opened flat after the volatility seen in most global markets with European markets having their worst day in over 2-months as the 2nd wave of Covid & stalling of stimulus sees markets react.

Mainland Chinese stocks were mixed, with the Shanghai Composite down 0.28% and the Shenzhen Component was lower by 0.29%.

Over in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index jumped 0.78%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 was flat by 0.34%, the Topix declined 0.38%, the Kospi traded lower by 0.98%.

Meanwhile, US stocks see another day of correction though stocks recover from intraday lows of almost 300 points to close flat.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 19.8 points lower, or 0.07%, at 28,494.20. Earlier in the day, however, the 30-stock average was down more than 300 points. The S&P 500 slid 0.2% to 3,483.34 and the Nasdaq Composite pulled back 0.5% to 11,713.87.

Bond yields fall further to 0.70% as global bonds yields hit fresh lows with German 'Bunds' hitting -0.64% the lowest since March.
