ICI reports estimated US long-term MF flows

US equity funds had estimated inflows of $3.46 billion for the week ended May 8, 2013, compared to estimated outflows of $4.41 billion in the previous week

Total estimated inflows to US long-term mutual funds were $12.39 billion for the week ended Wednesday, May 8, 2013, the Investment Company Institute reported on Wednesday. Flow estimates are derived from data collected covering more than 95% of industry assets and are adjusted to represent industry totals.

Equity funds had estimated inflows of $3.46 billion for the week, compared to estimated outflows of $4.41 billion in the previous week. Domestic equity funds had estimated inflows of $378 million, while estimated inflows to world equity funds were $3.08 billion.

Hybrid funds, which can invest in stocks and fixed income securities, had estimated inflows of $1.55 billion for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $6.48 billion in the previous week.

Bond funds had estimated inflows of $7.39 billion, compared to estimated inflows of $926 million during the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw estimated inflows of $7.65 billion, while municipal bond funds had estimated outflows of $263 million.
