The contribution from ISACA will help Enactus foster community projects carried out by a global group of student, academic and business leaders

ISACA’s first donation under its new corporate social responsibility (CSR) program supports Enactus, an international, nonprofit organization of student, academic and business leaders who help develop entrepreneurial skills and community development projects. ISACA, a global association serving 110,000 information systems assurance, security and governance professionals, has donated US $20,000 to facilitate these projects.
The contribution from ISACA will help Enactus foster community projects carried out by a global group of student, academic and business leaders who empower people in need and help them develop business skills for success. Participating students form teams on their college campuses to create and implement the global projects. Projects have included creating a capable workforce and greener environment in the United States, helping victims grow into entrepreneurs in Brazil, helping homeless individuals find opportunities as city guides in Australia, and helping the unemployed conquer obstacles to employability in France. Globally, Enactus is in 36 countries, in 1,600 universities, with 66,500 students, who completed 7.4 million project volunteer hours last year.
“We are excited to partner with ISACA and to kick-start their new corporate social responsibility program,” said Alex Perwich, president, Enactus United States. “This partnership will aid in the growth and development of future leaders while empowering real human progress through entrepreneurial action.”
“ISACA’s CSR program was created to build on our mission: helping professionals and their enterprises achieve trust in, and value from, their information and information systems. Enactus’s remarkable achievements in expanding entrepreneurial skills and its commitment to community empowerment align with ISACA’s values,” said Daryl Pereira, CISA, CRISC, CPA, chair of the working group overseeing ISACA’s CSR program and director for KPMG. “We are so pleased to be able to help Enactus in its important undertaking of building future technology leaders who will have a meaningful impact in the many industries in which ISACA constituents serve.”
