MF AUMs up 17.7% MoM to Rs. 8.25 trillion in April

During the financial year 2013-14 (as on April 30, 2013 ) so far, mutual funds net mobilised Rs. 1.06 trillion compared to Rs. 927.46 billion in corresponding period of 2012-13, according to SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) data.

The market value of assets under management increased 17.7% to Rs. 8.25 trillion as on April 30, 2013 from Rs. 7.01 trillion as on March 28, 2013.

During April 2013, Rs. 1.34 billion were mobilised in the primary market by way of one issue as compared to Rs. 13.68 billion mobilised through 14 issues in March 2013, showing a decrease of 90.2% over the previous month.

In April 2013, there was no equity issue. The cumulative amount mobilized for FY14, so far (as on April 30, 2013), stood at Rs. 1.34 billion through one issue as against Rs. 2 billion raised through one issue during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

There were four QIP issues worth Rs. 3.87 billion in the market during April 2013, as compared to two QIP issues worth Rs. 11.1 billion in March 2013. The cumulative amount mobilised through QIP route stood at Rs. 3.87 billion through four issues during 2013-14.

S&P BSE Sensex increased 3.5% to 19,504.2 on April 30, 2013 from 18,835.8 on March 28, 2013, registering a rise of 668.4 points.

During April 2013, Sensex recorded an intraday high of 19,622.7 on April 30, 2013 and an intraday low of 18,144.2 on April 15, 2013.
