Total assets of PMS rise 0.9% to Rs. 6.17 trillion in May

Total assets of PMS stood at Rs. 6.11 trillion in April 2013

Total assets under management (AUM) of portfolio management services (PMS) industry increased 0.9% to ` Rs. 6.17 trillion in May 2013 from Rs. 6.11 trillion in April 2013, according to SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) data.

As on May 31, 2013, AUM of discretionary PMS constitute 82.6% of the total AUM of PMS followed by advisory PMS (12.7%) and non discretionary PMS (4.7%).

In terms of number of clients, discretionary services category ranks first with total of 49,623 clients, out of 65,667 clients in PMS industry, followed by advisory services with 11,289 clients and nondiscretionary category with 4,755 clients.

S&P BSE Sensex closed at 19,760.3 on May 31, 2013, as against 19,504.2 on April 30, 2013, registering an increase of 256.1 points (1.3 percent). During May 2013, Sensex recorded an intraday high of 20,443.6 on May 20, 2013 and an intraday low of 19,451.3 on May 2, 2013.

CNX Nifty closed at 5,986 on May 31, 2013 compared to 5,930 on April 30, 2013, indicating an increase of 55.8 points (0.9 percent). During May, Nifty recorded an intraday high of 6,229.5 on May 20, 2013 and an intraday low of 5,911.0 on May 2, 2013.
