DHFL's loss widens to Rs7,634.89cr in Q4; stock ends 4% higher

For the entire financial year, DHFL's net loss has expanded to Rs13,612.32cr compared to Rs1,036.05cr in FY19.

Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited (DHFL) posted a standalone net loss of Rs7,634.89cr during March 2020 (Q4FY20) quarter, which widened compared to a net loss of Rs2,223.41cr in the corresponding period of the previous year. The company had recorded a net profit of Rs934.35cr in the preceding quarter. For the entire financial year, DHFL's net loss has expanded to Rs13,612.32cr compared to Rs1,036.05cr in FY19.

Meanwhile, total revenue from operations stood at Rs2,387.58cr in the quarter, lower compared to Rs2,963.06cr in Q4FY19 and Rs2,431.83cr in Q4FY20. For the fiscal, the revenue stood at Rs9,322.23cr from Rs12,883.88cr in FY19.

The company posted an interest income of Rs2,393.60cr in the quarter as against Rs2,885.41cr in the similar quarter of the previous year.

In the fiscal, DHFL's housing and other loan portfolio dropped to Rs66,203cr as against Rs97,978cr of FY19, resulting in a decline of 32% yoy. Also, the wholesale loan portfolio at Rs49,585cr (pursuant to the classification of this portfolio to "held for sale" in the previous year ended on March 31, 2019)  has been "fair valued" as of March 2020 at Rs30,732.14cr.

DHFL's total assets stand at Rs85,838cr in FY20 versus Rs1,06,475cr in FY19.

On Sensex, DHFL stock ended at Rs16.41 per piece, up by 4.39% on Monday.
